Under the guiding theme “My crop production. My future”, the DLG Feldtage (field days) 2022 trade fair, which will take place from 14 to 16 June at the Kirschgartshausen Versuchsgut ‘Experimental Farm’ near Mannheim, Germany, will present an extensive technical program.

Many of the over 260 registered exhibitors can now register to participate in the professional topics that form part of the technical program. The DLG expects some 350 exhibitors from the crop production sector at this year’s DLG-Feldtage open air field event.

“The DLG Feldtage 2022 have very good prospects of being able to take place again as the first industry venue after a long time,” says project manager Andreas Steul. “We continue to receive new registrations from exhibitors,” he adds.

DLG special features “Field vegetables” and “Organic farming”

As the DLG Feldtage 2022 will take place in the immediate vicinity of the Palatinate, Germany’s largest, enclosed open-air vegetable growing area, a DLG special feature on the topic of “Field Vegetables” is planned, which will focus on all professional aspects of growing and marketing field vegetables.

DLG’s special feature “Organic Farming” is aimed at organic farms and will offer professional information on plant breeding, cultivation advice, operating resources and agricultural technology as well as advice on marketing.

Exhibitor interest in machine demonstration growing

DLG Feldtage 2022 exhibitors are showing great interest in taking part in the machinery demonstrations, which are part of DLG-Feldtage’s program highlights. Over 70 machines have registered currently, including 20 machines for shallow tillage (from chain disc harrows to organic tillers, shallow cultivators, disc harrows and shallow ploughs), 16 hoes, 13 crop protection sprayers, seven harrows, seven tractors and telescopic loaders on the new theme “Lifting, loading and filling in the field”, six fertiliser spreaders and four N-sensors.

Field robots at work

The  International Field Robot Event (FRE) will take place for the fourth time at the DLG Feldtage 2022. International teams of students will compete with their field robots to establish which can achieve the best results in the test field, where conditions will correspond to those that would be found in real-life farming situations. This year, companies manufacturing field robots will be presenting their solutions practically in the field, adding to the offering of field robots.

Co-organisers of the DLG Feldtage 2022 in Mannheim are the Ministry of Rural Affairs and Consumer Protection of Baden-Württemberg, Vereinigte Hagelversicherung, Raiffeisen Waren GmbH, Raiffeisen Waren-Zentrale Rhein-Main eG (RWZ) and ZG Raiffeisen eG.
