The Major tractor range belongs to the most popular models in the product portfolio of Zetor tractors from Czech Republic. The new Major CL 80 retains the features of its predecessors. Based on its reputation of a long-life tractor, the Brno-based manufacturer has made it even better with a number of new features and technical innovations. Most important is the new Stage V low emission engine. In addition, the cab was redesigned for better comfort.

‘The Major CL 80 model is equipped with a four-cylinder, 75 hp Deutz TCD 2.9 L4 engine with turbocharger. Its emission system has been improved with a diesel particulate filter (DPF) which, together with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), complies with the Stage V emission standard,’ says Marek Buchar, Technical Director of Zetor Tractors a.s. As a result of Common-Rail injection ), the engine runs quiet and is fuel efficient. Thanks to a good torque reserve, it keeps its performance without the need to downshift frequently.

To offer better comfort, customers can choose from two comfortable and spacious cab versions.

• The standard cab is available in two versions: either with just a hard roof, or with FOPS (Falling-Objects Protective Structure) and a sunroof. Optionally, the cab can be equipped with air-conditioning and mechanical suspended seat with arm rests and head support.

• The “Plus” version cab has standard air-conditioning. Just like the standard cab, it is available either with a hard roof, or a version with FOPS and a sunroof. The seat with mechanical suspension, arm rests and head support can be made more comfortable using pneumatic suspension as an option. A passenger seat is optional, too.

In addition, the Plus cab offers steering column that can be tilted and adjusted for height, improved ergonomics for hitch control and PTO mode, switches identical to higher model ranges, non-slip foot pedal pads and improved differential lock control. A new user-friendly feature is using the same key to start the engine and lock the door. Work with equipment is made easier by universal slots to mount equipment displays, holes for equipment cables or three-pin socket for equipment power supply.

There are new tools in the Major CL to make work with a front loader easier, such as set-up for joystick control and the addition of roof low-beam lamps.

The Major CL 80 is equipped with a fully synchronized four-gear transmission with three-stage reduction and mechanical reverser offering 12+12 gears. External hydraulics consists of two circuits with an output of up to 50 l/m. The implementation of Stage V engine resulted in design improvements of air brakes, air inlet, engine cooling and mechanical regulation of hydraulics. As an option, the tractor can be equipped with front PTO, front three-point hitch, beacons and different tire sizes.

“Tractors of the Major model range are still universal helpers,’ says Sales and Marketing Director Petr Konštacký.  ‘They can be used on small and medium farms, for animal breeding and crop growing as well as road maintenance. These tractors are reliable, easy to operate, simple to maintain and popular mainly for their simple design and low operation costs.”
