A powerful wave of innovation is blowing across Scandinavia. In Finland, right in the heart of the fields and forests of Suolahti, Valtra unveiled the new sixth-generation T Series tractors to the specialized press. We were there too, getting a firsthand look at all the updates introduced by the manufacturer’s engineers.
Starting with the completely redesigned high-performance platform, featuring a powertrain highlighted by the AGCO Power CORE75 engine, supported by new transmission solutions, next-generation operator interfaces, and integrated digital farming tools like FarmENGAGE. But let’s take things step by step, because there is truly a lot to cover.

Valtra T6: A Renewed, State-of-the-Art Mechanical Core
The beating heart of the new sixth-generation Valtra T Series is the AGCO Power CORE75 engine – a 7.5-liter six-cylinder capable of delivering up to 245 hp and 1,184 Nm of torque in the top-of-the-range T236 model. This powertrain is managed by the Smart Power Management intelligent system, which optimizes the interaction between engine and transmission to continuously balance power and fuel consumption based on the workload.
This technology guarantees high traction capacity even at low RPMs, reducing fuel consumption by up to 5% compared to the previous 74HD engine. Onboard, operators will be able to select from three different driving modes (Eco, Normal, and Power) to adapt the machine’s response to specific working conditions.

Transmission Options
To complete the powertrain, engineers have introduced several transmission options. Customers can choose between the AGCO ML 180 CVT continuously variable transmission and a new 10-speed powershift gearbox capable of propelling the tractor to a top transport speed of 57 km/h.
The chassis features a 2,950 mm wheelbase and a generous ground clearance reaching 575 mm. Despite its size, the machine ensures excellent maneuverability, evidenced by a tight turning radius of just 4.9 meters.

A Control Center in the Field
The sixth generation of the Valtra T Series refreshes its onboard interfaces by introducing the SmartTouch Gen2 system and the new Active Gen2 armrest. The former features a quick-booting 12-inch high-resolution touchscreen with 12 configurable buttons and customizable work screens accommodating up to 16 quadrants. It also integrates ISOBUS management, autosteer, and implement control, alongside QR-code assistance to help new users. The latter, Active Gen2, offers a more streamlined and intuitive control layout.
The goal of both systems is to deliver maximum immediate productivity with reduced learning curves. Both SmartTouch Gen2 and Active Gen2 sync instantly with the A-pillar display, keeping key information directly within the operator’s line of sight.

Among the new additions is the PTx FarmENGAGE system, provided as standard on the new sixth-generation Valtra T Series. This technology optimizes agronomic data transfer and communication between the field and the office, enhancing productivity even when managing mixed fleets.
Rounding out the technology suite are advanced automation systems, including TIM (Tractor Implement Management), speed-proportional hydraulics, and intelligent front-linkage control—all designed to reduce operator workload and ensure maximum operational continuity during the most complex applications.
“The sixth-generation Valtra T Series represents the most significant new tractor launch in Valtra’s history,” commented Matti Tiitinen, Vice President Sales and Marketing, Valtra EME. “It marks a major leap forward both for the hard-working T Series and for our SmartTouch interface, an industry leader in ease of use. We listened carefully to what farmers and contractors told us they needed: higher performance, lower operating costs, better connectivity, customization options, and an easier tractor to operate. We are now delivering all of this in a completely new T Series. The result is a machine that feels remarkably natural to operate, helping users achieve more with less effort every day.”
