Massey Ferguson unveils its new mid-to-high horsepower tractor range. Among the contenders for Tractor of the Year 2027, the new line-up comprises six models and introduces a host of significant updates.
With EIMA International just around the corner, major announcements from the tractor industry are beginning to come thick and fast. Adding even more interest to an already packed programme in Bologna, Massey Ferguson unveiled its new MF 7S MARK 2 mid-to-high horsepower tractor range during an international press event held in France.
Completely redesigned, the range comprises six models delivering maximum outputs from 170 to 245 hp, positioned between the current MF 7S range and the MF 8S Xtra series. The new models carry the MARK 2 designation, paying tribute to Massey Ferguson’s heritage while distinguishing this new generation from its predecessors and highlighting the extensive updates introduced.
The ‘MARK’ designation has already appeared on some of the most iconic tractors in Massey Ferguson’s history, including the celebrated MF 65 MARK I, MF 65 MARK II and MF 165 MARK III. Following its return with the new MF 7S MARK 2 series, Massey Ferguson plans to use the designation to identify future updates across its entire product range. But let’s take a closer look at what these powerful new tractors have to offer.

MF 7S MARK 2, built for hard work
In addition to tyres specifically developed with BKT, which we have already covered, the new tractors feature a chassis optimised for the most demanding operating conditions.
The 2.95-metre wheelbase provides excellent manoeuvrability while maintaining high levels of stability both in the field and during transport. This has enabled the engineers to increase traction capability while reducing the amount of front ballast required when operating heavy rear-mounted implements. The introduction of a new front axle also provides an exceptionally tight 5.3-metre turning radius, further improving the tractor’s agility across a wide range of applications. MF 7S MARK 2
All six models are powered by the latest CORE engine, part of AGCO Power’s award-winning in-house engine family. On the MF 7S MARK 2, it comes in the form of a 7.5-litre, six-cylinder unit with a single turbocharger, featuring 25% fewer components than its predecessors. This reduces mechanical complexity while helping to improve long-term reliability.

Stage V emissions requirements are met without the need for exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). Maximum power is available across a broad engine-speed range, while the torque curve remains flat between 800 and 1,500 rpm on all models. These high-efficiency characteristics ensure consistently high performance without the need for an Engine Power Management (EPM) system.
To maximise operating autonomy, the tractors are equipped with a 410-litre fuel tank, representing a 25% increase in capacity, while the 56.5-litre AdBlue tank is 88% larger than before. Among the available options is a reversible fan, designed to keep the radiators clean and reduce the time required for cleaning the cooling package.
Two air-compressor configurations are also available: a standard single-cylinder version for tractors equipped with pneumatic trailer brakes, delivering up to 310 litres/min at 2,100 rpm, and a high-performance twin-piston version capable of delivering up to 800 litres/min. MF 7S MARK 2.

A transmission built for speed
All MF 7S MARK 2 models are equipped with the Dyna-VT continuously variable transmission, providing stepless speed control across two ranges. New features include ParkLock as standard, emergency braking and a maximum road speed of 57 km/h, depending on the market. A four-speed PTO provides compatibility with a broad range of implements. The high-capacity hydraulic system is available with closed-centre load-sensing systems delivering 110, 150 or up to 190 litres/min.
The Efficient specification can be equipped with up to four spool valves, either fully mechanical or with a combination of mechanical and electrohydraulic valves featuring decompression levers. The Exclusive specification offers up to five electronic spool valves, each capable of delivering up to 120 litres/min. Separate transmission and hydraulic oil reservoirs help prevent cross-contamination while allowing as much as 96 litres of oil to be exported for external hydraulic services. MF 7S MARK 2.

All aboard!
The new MF 7S MARK 2 tractors feature an updated version of the spacious cab that has proved highly popular since making its debut on the MF 8S series. Massey Ferguson’s distinctive Protect-U design incorporates a 15 cm gap physically separating the cab from the encapsulated engine. This arrangement reduces noise, vibration and heat transmission to the operator environment.
The design also allows the front windscreen wiper to clean the entire surface of the sloping windscreen, unlike the systems fitted to some of the main competing models. MF 7S MARK 2The new tractors introduce the all-new 12-inch Datatronic 6 touchscreen terminal, featuring a redesigned user interface intended to simplify machine settings.
With twice the display area and a higher resolution than the previous generation, the terminal provides access to tractor settings, guidance functions and data management. Advanced display options include customisable tiles available in three different sizes.
Improvements across every aspect of operation
The optional Visio roof now uses a new 8 mm polycarbonate panel instead of glass. This solution eliminates the need for a FOPS protective grid, significantly improving the operator’s upward visibility. Through the MF By You customisation service, an 8 mm polycarbonate side window is also available as an option. It provides additional operator protection during specific applications such as mowing and hedge cutting.
Operator visibility is further enhanced by a new side wiper covering 72% of the window area, improving the view around the cab door.
New LED work lights are fitted as standard, with four optional upgrade packages available. The top-of-the-range configuration features a total of 27 LED lights, with eight mounted on the bonnet and 19 on the cab. Seats are supplied by Grammer and Isri. The latter’s mid-range seat swivels and features automatic pneumatic suspension, ventilation, heating, lumbar support, lateral support and lateral damping.
The top-specification seat adds a lumbar massage function, electric adjustment and memory settings for three operator profiles. Finally, the upgraded heating and ventilation system provides multi-level airflow through 14 air vents. An optional Category 4 filtration system is also available, providing operator protection during specific operations such as crop-protection treatments, with automatic monitoring of filter service life.
