Innovation that transforms, connects people, technologies and everyday practices. Through this approach, CNH Industrial gained the AB 2022 Award in two categories: “Collaborative Innovation”, with a project developed in partnership with Raízen, and “Disruptive Technology”, for its New Holland Agriculture brand, with the world’s first bio methane powered tractor.
The award ceremony took place during the #ABX22 – Automotive Business Experience, in São Paulo (SP). The event is the largest business meeting of the automotive and mobility ecosystem and gathered more than three thousand participants in the face-to-face sessions and more than five thousand in the digital sessions.
“This award is another important recognition of our daily effort to transform challenges into opportunities”, said Vilmar Fistarol, President of CNH Industrial for Latin America. “We accelerate the processes of implementing innovative technologies and solutions to generate productivity with sustainability for our customers, following our “Breaking New Ground” strategy. It is very gratifying to reap the rewards of strengthening the culture of innovation that has been worked on in the company for years and now extends to our partners, forming a more consistent ecosystem”.
Recently, CNH Industrial was elected the most innovative company in the Automotive and Large Vehicles sector and seventh in the list of the 150 most innovative in the country in the Valor Innovation Brazil 2022 Award.
Two AB 2022 awards
An innovation project of CNH Industrial was set up in partnership with Raízen. Through this joint effort, a solution was created to further optimize preventive maintenance of agricultural equipment and reduce downtime. A cell phone in the cab interfaces the maintenance team with the operator. Hence, the Internet of Things (IoT) is used to anticipate, evaluate and identify in real time, for example, the performance of equipment and the need for repair. The processed information supports the processes and improves the decision making in the field. The new system ensures greater agility, less downtime, increased productivity and reduced maintenance. If before the machine was stopped for 2h 12 min, this time was reduced to 12 minutes. And compared to corrective maintenance, this technology contributes to a reduction of 88% in repair costs.
The second achievement came from the world’s first tractor powered by methane gas, launched by New Holland Agriculture, was awarded as “Disruptive Technology”. The T6 Methane Power is a new category of agricultural machinery and represents the “virtuous farm cycle” concept. The machine was developed to run 100% on gas and deliver the same energy and operational efficiency as an equivalent diesel tractor. This tractor guarantees a reduction of up to 80% in pollutant emission and a reduction of 25% and 40% in costs if compared to diesel. Available in the Brazilian market, the T6 Methane Power was elected “Sustainable Tractor of the Year 2022” at the EIMA International trade fair in Italy.
