Corn head guidance for combines

Ag Leader launches Z-Row corn head row guidance. This keeps the combine centered on the row while operating entirely within the InCommand Go display. Designed for compatibility with SteerCommand Z2 and SteadySteer, Z-Row brings row guidance and harvest data together in a single interface.

By eliminating the need for additional displays, controllers, or complex setup, the Z-Row system helps operators stay focused during a demanding time of the year. “Harvest is one of the most complex operations on the farm, requiring operators to manage machine performance, grain quality, logistics, and more all at once,” said Andrew Pierce, product sales specialist at Ag Leader. “Z-Row reduces that complexity by integrating row guidance into a single, intuitive interface, enabling operators to focus on what matters most.”

Maintaining proper row alignment is critical to minimizing crop loss and maximizing header performance, especially in down corn, low visibility conditions, or challenging terrain. Z-Row helps keep the combine consistently centered, improving crop flow into smoother harvest experience and more bandwidth for monitoring machine performance and grain quality.

Simplifying the cab experience

Combine operators often rely on multiple systems to manage row guidance, steering, and yield monitoring, leading to cluttered cabs and divided attention. Z-Row addresses these challenges by consolidating key functions into a single, integrated platform, enabling operators to:

  • Eliminate extra screens and reduce cab clutter
  • Monitor all functions and adjust within a single system
  • Access historical field data, guidance lines, and harvest data in one place
  • Troubleshoot through one connected platform
Flexible, upgrade-friendly solution

Built with compatibility in mind, Z-Row integrates easily into existing harvest setups.

  • Works with SteerCommand Z2 or SteadySteer
  • Supports leading row guidance sensors, including AutoTrac RowSense (John Deere), TrueSight/TrueSense (Precision Planting), and PSR TAC (Reichhardt)
  • Enables seamless switching between row guidance and traditional guidance lines
  • Eliminates the need to change steering systems or cabling when switching crops

With many combines already equipped with compatible sensors, Z-Row offers a straightforward, cost-effective upgrade to enhance harvest performance. For operations without an existing corn head sensor, one can easily be installed to enable Z-Row functionality.

By uniting row guidance and harvest data, Z-Row simplifies setup, cleans up the cab, and delivers more consistent performance throughout the season. “The result is a more confident operator who can focus less on steering and more on maximizing efficiency, machine performance, and yield potential,” Pierce concludes.
