CLAAS expands TRION series

The TRION series from CLAAS is positioned in the medium-sized combine harvester class. Now the range has been expanded with the new TRION 740, TRION 740 TERRA TRAC and TRION 740 MONTANA in the compact hybrid class, featuring a 1,420 mm wide drum and the combination of the APS HYBRID threshing system and ROTO PLUS single rotor.

The TRION is a comprehensive and diverse product range from CLAAS in the mid-range combine harvester class. From the compact five-straw walker to the high-performance six-straw walker or high horsepower hybrid with ROTO PLUS secondary separation, the nine performance classes in three series with engine outputs from 258 to 435 hp and drum widths of 1,420 and 1,700 mm cater for every conceivable customer requirement –regardless of whether they want a wheeled machine, TERRA TRAC or MONTANA for hilly terrain.

Infinite versatility

Three new high-performance alternatives to the TRION 730 and TRION 750 are available now, joining the upper ranks of the TRION family – the TRION 740, TRION 740 TERRA TRAC and TRION 740 MONTANA. These machines deliver full engine output with torque reserves for tough harvesting conditions with or without a straw chopper, combined with the APS HYBRID threshing system with a 570 mm single rotor that is suitable for many different crops.

“Customers from regions in Europe that experience variable harvesting conditions have requested more engine power than is currently provided by the TRION 720 and TRION 730 HYBRID machines”, explains Philipp Stiens, Global Product Team Manager Large and Medium Combines. “The combination of the proven APS threshing unit and ROTO PLUS single rotor is ideally suited to regions where harvesting conditions are often unfavourable and highly variable. This is the case in parts of the UK and Ireland, as well as in Scandinavia, Northern Germany, Northern France and the Baltic States.”

The TRION 740 also suits regions of Southern and South-Eastern Europe. “Although grain and straw yields often tend to be only average in these areas, with significantly wider cutterbars or maize pickers and higher ground speeds, it is not unusual for customers nowadays to push the machines to the limits of their performance,” Stiens adds. “Furthermore, customers throughout Europe still have very high standards when it comes to straw quality. The TRION 740 HYBRID allrounder, positioned above the TRION 720 and TRION 730, is our answer to these demands. We can now offer six-straw walker machines as alternative with higher throughputs and at the same time, low specific fuel consumption and better straw quality.”
