Delvano from Belgium, manufacturer of agricultural spraying machines, has been declared bankrupt. The assets of the company, including a part of its personnel, will be acquired by Depoortere, specialized producer of flax machinery, located nearby the Delvano premises.
Delvano, known for its blue-and-yellow sprayers, had been struggling for some time. The machinery manufacturer had been active in the manufacture of ag machinery for nearly six decades. The company was founded in 1966 and set to celebrate its 60th anniversary this year.
According to the reiver, the difficult situation in the agricultural sector played a major role. Due to disappointing harvests and uncertainty among farmers, investments and orders are being postponed. “Farmers are postponing orders, which is understandable. And Delvano is also being affected by that situation.”
Flax machine manufacturer Depoortere is taking over the assets of Delvano. This includes a part of the personnel. Apart from the production of mounted, trailed and self-propelled sprayers, the company also produces machines for horticulture, industry and road de-icing.
