Never fail to remember that violence does not belong to the world of sport. This is the core message that BKT, sponsor of many sporting disciplines worldwide, wants to communicate to its community today, since the important debate on racism in sport continues to be a crucial issue. Making a difference, by making no difference.

Thus, Mr. Rajiv Poddar, Joint Managing Director of BKT and global coordinator of sport-related business initiatives, states as follows:

“As a committed sponsor across multiple sporting disciplines, it is our responsibility to promote the fundamental values of inclusion, respect, and equality. Sport, at its best, provides an arena where people can gather together, compete and celebrate diversity without discrimination of any kind.

Racism in sport therefore is like a festering wound that must be faced with determination and unity, developing synergies among athletes, fans, sports clubs, and sponsors. For there is no doubt that sport can be a powerful means of social change and only together can we win this civilization match.

We are aware that there is still much to be done, and BKT is ready and prepared to play its part!”

BKT’s invitation today is a clear encouragement: Together we can create a future where sport truly represents diversity, where every player and fan can enjoy a good game without fear of discrimination or prejudice.

“It is crucial to promote diversity and equality in sport by means of both concrete policies and an open and continuous dialogue,” concludes Rajiv Poddar. “Only this way, we can overcome the barriers of racism and create a future, in which sport is an opportunity for inclusion and inspiration for everybody. Racism has no place in our ideal of sport, and we must strive to overcome it in all its appearances.”
