At the Kirschgartshausen experimental farm near Mannheim, Germany, this week the German Field Days (Feldtage) took place. Crop professionals from throughout the country, as well as from other European countries visited the outdoor event where they could experience modern crop growing and field demonstrations.

The “Feldtage” field-days is a biennial event, organised by DLG, the German Agricultural Society. The previous edition was held in 2018, but was postponed, due to the corona pandemic. This year however, again a professional audience benefited from gaining extensive information, ranging from an exhibition and seminars, to demonstration plots of a wide array of crops and machine demonstrations.

At the Kirschgartshausen experimental farm, winter wheat crop had been harvested. Thus, the stubble field allowed for demonstrations in the field of tillage, fertilizer spreading, spraying and material handling. Also autonomous vehicles were on display , and a field robot event was held.
