Väderstad, global specialist in tillage, seeding and planting, celebrated its 60th birthday on April 26th, 2022. For 60 years Väderstad has been an important player in agricultural development, serving farmers all over the world to simplify their work and improve their result.

It all started in 1962, when the farmer Rune Stark and his wife Siv from the village of Väderstad in Sweden, grew tired of his weak rigid tine harrow made from wood. He envisioned something else, a new solution that was durable and made of steel.

That vision came to change agriculture forever. 60 years later Rune is no longer with us, but his progressive thinking and drive for innovation certainly is.

For 60 years, Väderstad has become an important manufacturer of machines to help feeding the world. “Our importance has grown over time, with the new inventions we brought to market helping farmers to produce more effectively, but also as our company has grown from year to year, reaching out to more and more farmers in an ever-increasing number of countries”, says Crister Stark, Innovation Manager and second generation of Väderstad’s owner family.

Throughout the years Väderstad has presented innovations such as the Rapid, the classic one-pass drill, and the Carrier, that created an entirely new segment in tillage. Tempo was introduced in 2012 and took planting to a new level with its speed and performance and now we are introducing the Proceed, a technological leap that can place wheat seeds and a numerous of other crops at the perfect depth with millimeter precision.

“We are on a global journey together with our customers, a journey to find new ways to work their fields and grow their crops, to present new solutions that will improve their results further and make them even more competitive. We are grateful that an increasing number of farmers choose us as their partner for tillage, drilling and planting. We do everything we can, every day, to continuously meet or exceed their expectations”, says Henrik Gilstring CEO of Väderstad Group and third generation of the owner family.
