German agtech start-up Crop.Zone, Australian crop protection specialist Nufarm and Dutch equipment provider Kamps de Wild, enter into an exclusive cooperation in the field of innovative, hybrid electric potato leaf desiccation. Kamps de Wild will act as the exclusive machine sales and support partner for Nucrop in the Netherlands.
Developed by German agtech start-up Crop.Zone and brought to farmers across Europe in cooperation with Australian crop protection specialist Nufarm, the hybrid electric desiccation solution uses a conductive liquid (VOLT.fuel) and electric power (VOLT.apply) to dehydrate and dry out the plants.
Kamps de Wild will be the exclusive sales and support provider of the VOLT.apply system in the Netherlands, while Nufarm will be responsible for selling Volt.fuel through its Dutch channel partners in crop protection. After a successful groundbreaker programme in 2021, the Nucrop solution will be launched in the Netherlands in 2022, focusing on potato leaf desiccation, with weed control being the next step.
Dirk Vanderhirtz, CEO of Crop.Zone, says: “We are delighted to have found a strategic partner with more than 100 years of experience in farm equipment and a strong relationship with growers. We are very much looking forward to working with the Kamps de Wild team.”
Dick Melessen, Managing Director Kamps de Wild, says: “As a distributor of agricultural machinery, we see the market for weed control changing towards new ways of working, with chemical pesticides being used differently. With this revolutionary system, we are able to create a sustainable future for our customers. We’re really looking forward to introducing and distributing this new and environmentally friendly technology together with Nufarm and Crop.Zone.”
Hildo Brilleman, Regional General Manager EuMEA at Nufarm, adds: “With its expertise in servicing farm equipment, Kamps de Wild is the perfect partner for the Nucrop solution. Together with them and our crop protection channel partners, we will bring this innovative, hybrid electric solution to one of the biggest potato markets in Europe, giving farmers a new powerful tool for residue-free desiccation.”
