Väderstad, specialist in tillage, seeding and planting, enters into cooperation with Kalverkamp from Germany, designer of the Nexat crop production system.

Nexat, who has been awarded the gold innovation award by DLG, is based on an electrically driven carrier vehicle with a working width of up to 24 meters that can handle all steps of the working process for the farmer. Itis prepared for complete autonomation.

Nexat is an “all-in-one-system-tractor” that takes care of every working step: from cultivation to sowing, plant protection and harvesting. The machine is equipped with a quick-change modular system where the technology required for each working step can be easily installed and dismounted.

The machine has a variable working width of 6-24 metres, the crop production system guarantees the unrestricted use of Controlled Traffic Farming (CTF) and is prepared for complete autonomation.

As a result, 95% of the total arable area is never driven over again with the Nexat system. Therefore, maximum yield potential can be achieved with maximum soil and environmental protection. Particularly noteworthy is the possibility of sustainable soil improvement through continuous humus build-up, considerable CO2 savings (carbon farming) as well as the sustainable protection of the valuable arable land from erosion by wind and water.

“We are very excited about this cooperation and we are looking forward to seeing the development in the coming years”, says Jörgen Dahl, VP Business Development at Väderstad.

Väderstad has been a partner during the development of the Nexat system. As an international manufacturer of tillage, planting and seeding equipment, Väderstad has played a significant role in the development and adaptation of the respective module solutions and will offer machines as modules in the new crop production system.

The Nexat company was founded in 2013 by Kalverkamp Maschinenbau GmbH and is dedicated exclusively to the development, manufacture and sale of the new Nexat plant production system. In doing so, the young company draws on Kalverkamp’s more than 30 years of development and consulting expertise with numerous product developments for leading international agricultural machinery manufacturers.
