The new generation of the Kuhn Antea, self-propelled mixer wagon has been developed to provide working comfort and execute precision and performance. The semi-autonomous machine received an innovation award at the recently held Space tradeshow in Rennes, France.
The Antea benefits from the same innovations as the Aura feeding system, which is a fully autonomous machine, from silo to trough. The Antea is a self-propelled machine that offers user precision, performance and ease of use.
The Antea Intense 2.CL range is available with 2 vertical screws and capacities of 19, 22, 25 and 27 m3. Depending on the intended use (individual or contractors), the range is offered in 25 or 40 km/hour versions.
Kuhn Librafeed operational settings
Kuhn Librafeed is the new integrated weighing device that allows its user to advance programme not only rations, but also all of the machine’s operational settings. The system enables preparing the machine’s work tasks from a smartphone or computer. Reports with indicators dedicated to food management can help the user and their technical advisors to anticipate and make the right “nutritional” decisions. The link between weighing information and the machine’s hydraulic systems allows different parameters to be assigned to each ration or even to each ingredient (milling speed, mixing screw speed, counter-knife operation, mixing time, etc.).
The Antea is offered as standard with the Kuhn Librafeed Smart version for five years.
Modern e-VISIOSPACE cab
The new e-VISIOSPACE cab benefits from new geometric lines offering great user convenience and visibility. Forward movement is controlled by foot with a precision comparable to that of a single-lever system. By freeing up the joystick, new functions have been integrated. For example, the entire cycle (loading, mixing and distribution) can now be carried out while keeping control of the main joystick.
The new generation control console and its large format (14”) colour touchscreen offer driving experience and ergonomics.
To operate safely on the most confined farms, the Antea features a large glazed surface with a wide field of vision. In addition, the new management of external cameras allows the driver to remain focused on his work task without being disturbed by the environment.
Evolving ration composition
The 200 hp milling machine, combined with a 800 mm wide conveyor, allows for high-throughput loading performance (particularly with fibers to meet the evolving composition of rations for dry cows or heifers). Electronic descent control of the conveyor during silage removal (exclusive to the current Kuhn range) for automatic speed management is based on forage density, thus limiting its impact on the particle size of corn silage.
The concept of mixing with two vertical screws is fast, depending on the cut and offers excellent consistency of the feeding ration.
The optional four-wheel steering reduces the turning radius to 6.53 m for good manoeuverability. The rear-mounted engine brings 75% of the machine’s weight onto the drive axle, thus enabling excellent speed and traction.
Distribution is carried out by a wide transverse conveyor belt for unloading to the left and right. For specific trough situations, the Antea Intense 2.CL can optionally receive hydraulic conveyor offset and/or rear discharge chutes associated with tilting conveyors.
Allowing intensive use
The Antea range includes equipment for intensive use. The Platinum Pack includes K-NOX mixing screws, K-NOX mixing tub liners, a K-NOX milling head drum and a K-NOX milling bucket. It is worth noting that the lifespan of K-NOX material is six times greater than a standard steel used in industry.
The Antea Intense 2.CL is equipped with a Volvo PH5 6 cylinders engine, which benefits from a maintenance interval (oil change) of 1,000 engine hours and low operating expenses.
The entire Antea range comes standard for 5 years with Kuhn Connect connectivity, providing relevant indicators in the MyKUHN dashboard. From the distribution of time between the various functions (loading, distribution, transport, etc.) and the diesel consumption data, the information reported to the farmer highlights areas for improvement in terms of operating costs. This gives Kuhn partner dealers, who also have access to all data related to the operation of the machine, diagnostic and proactive maintenance tools.
The Antea will be available for deliveries from January 2027.
