Claas electric loader market ready

Claas has brought its first battery-electric agricultural wheel loader, the Torion 537e Sinus, to market. Unveiled at Agritechnica 2025, the six-ton-class machine combines the manoeuvrability and stability of the Sinus steering system with an emission-free electric drive.

Designed particularly for livestock farms, the Torion 537e Sinus offers quiet operation while maintaining the performance of a comparable diesel-powered loader. The reduced noise and absence of local emissions can contribute to a more comfortable working environment for operators and farm staff, while also benefiting animal welfare. The electric drivetrain additionally reduces maintenance requirements because fewer operating fluids need to be checked or replaced.

The loader is powered by a modular lithium-ion battery available with either 32.2 kWh or 64.4 kWh capacity. Depending on the battery configuration and operating conditions, Claas states that the machine can run for approximately eight to 16 hours. Energy is recovered during braking and downhill travel through regenerative braking.

Charging times range from around 1.5 to three hours, depending on the on-board charger and available connection power. Because the charging system is integrated into the machine, no additional external charging equipment is required, providing flexibility for on-farm use.

The lithium-ion battery, featuring a modular design, is available with a capacity of either 32.2 or 64.4 kW. This enables operating times of up to 16 hours in everyday use.

Despite its electric powertrain, the Torion 537e Sinus is designed to deliver performance comparable to the conventional Torion 537 Sinus. It has an operating weight of 5,910 kg and a breakaway force of 48 kN. Its hydraulic system delivers 75 l/min at 240 bar, while the loader can reach a top speed of 30 km/h. The standard Smart Loading assistance system automates and coordinates functions such as lifting and lowering heights and bucket return to improve loading efficiency.


The Sinus steering system combines articulated steering with a self-steering rear axle, giving the machine a minimum turning radius of 3,520 mm.  This makes it suitable for confined working environments such as livestock buildings, stables and farmyards.

Operator comfort is supported by an ergonomic cab, generous visibility and a touchscreen terminal displaying machine information and charging status.

Through Claas connect, users can also access machine location, operating data, maintenance history and digital documentation.
