With the introduction of its model year 2027 line of triple forage mergers, Oxbo is introducing a new ISOBUS compatibility standard feature. It provides enhanced operator control from the tractor cab.
ISOBUS control includes features such as belts on and direction of travel, headland automation functions, the ability to adjust float from the tractor seat, as well as the ability to map merger functions to the tractor’s programmable buttons. The technology also provides improved diagnostics which includes an hour counter, hydraulic oil pressure and temperature monitoring, and system voltage monitoring. An optional control box is available for non-ISOBUS tractors or for those who prefer basic controls.
Long history
In 1998, Oxbo built its first prototype double merger and then in 2003, commercialized the first triple merger, branded as the MillerPro 310 and sold through Miller dealers. In 2008, the mergers were rebranded as Oxbo and made available through Oxbo dealers. Following the acquisition of H&S Mfg. in 2023, Oxbo mergers along with the full H&S line of equipment are now built in Marshfield, WI USA
The 2024 model year saw the release of Oxbo’s PowerMerge technology. This technology is a result of the unique cam, tine, and belt design of the pickup heads that allow Oxbo mergers to pick up more crop, operate faster, create smooth windrows, and deliver the highest quality forage.
When data from the University of Wisconsin documented a 2.5% ash reduction in wide swath merged forage vs raked forage, the Oxbo 330 and 334 became the most popular complement to triple mowers in all dairy regions. Merging technology proved especially popular in wet climates, supporting the move to ‘Hay-in-a-Day’ to maximize forage nutritional content. Today, mergers are used in more forage crops than ever before, from alfalfa to small grains and grasses. With the introduction of the Oxbo 2228, merging technology has also expanded into the dry hay market.
