John Deere added the C1450T model to its C-Series air cart lineup. It is the the largest capacity option in this series to increase seeding capacity between refills.
Building on the proven performance of the C-Series, the new C1450T includes features that the C-Series air carts are known for. AccuRate meters are corrosion-resistant, stainless-steel meters that hold up against abrasive granular fertilizers and seed treatments. The individually controlled, electric meters have the ability to change the speed of each meter, allowing for higher-resolution prescriptions. The meters also allow for Curve Compensation and SectionCommand Pro, providing up to *8x more precision in seeding.
Another feature of the C-Series carts is EZCal, a push-button calibration system that is faster and more efficient than older, manual bag calibration systems. “The C1450T combines increased capacity with the precision technologies farmers depend on every day,” Zelle said. “Features like the ActiveCal™ system give operators real-time visibility into product levels and application performance, helping them make in-field adjustments and maintain accuracy without slowing down.”
Ease of use
To support the increased capacity, a new feature on the C1450T is the EZLift system that allows to lift bulk bags to tender directly into tanks 1, 2 and 3. The lift can reach bags on the ground, a trailer, truck bed, or the storage platform. A bulk bag side storage platform provides extra bag storage, helping with efficiency when every minute counts.
Another new feature to make seed handling more efficient is a new 16” hydraulic conveyor. This longer and wider conveyor allows for faster tendering of product and increased clearance around the rear tires. A stainless-steel hopper decreases maintenance. In addition to the conveyor, the front platform has been redesigned with walk-over stairs for easier access to cross the hitch.
The cart also includes a larger tank 1, the 105 bu Flex Tank. The new Flex Tank increases the versatility of the tank, allowing it to be filled with more than just canola or inoculant. Filling the tank with additional fertilizer or seed increases acres per fill, keeping farmers in the field longer.
The C1450T also includes the addition of a fifth tank. This allows for greater versatility, allowing to mix and match tanks to maximize surface per fill. This design enables greater ability to blend fertilizer on the cart and increases the maximum number of products the cart can hold to five.
Multi-tank air seeders with a G5 or G5Plus CommandCenter display and G5 Advanced license have access to the new John Deere Operations Center Logistics feature that will show an estimate of how long and how much area remains until the tank is empty. This feature helps knowing when a refill is needed, ensuring everyone is in the right place at the right time to maximize productivity. This feature is available whether the air seeder is applying at a flat rate or using a variable rate prescription.
Precision upgrades
The AccuRate metering system is compatible with the John Deere 1910 air carts with two and three tank configurations along with existing C650 and C850 air carts to provide increased precision, reduced maintenance, and minimize crop buildup with anti-static composite shoots. Additional options include an in-tank and platform lighting package. EZCal technology can also be installed as an upgrade and offers an added layer of simplicity, providing operators with the ability to calibrate meters while tendering with the push of a button.
Another precision upgrade available for air seeding tools is the RelativeFlow™Blockage system that upgrades an existing tool with the same technology available on new equipment. Sensors monitor row-level relative product flow rate and provide in-cab alerts to help catch blockages early to keep product flowing evenly across the tool – preventing skips that cause uneven emergence and lost yield potential.
