Claas Volto tedder range expanded

Claas has expanded its Volto tedder lineup with seven new Volto and Volto T models, The range now offers working widths from 6.6m to 10.8m, positioned below the flagship Volto 1300 and 1500 series launched in 2024.

The new machines inherit technology from the larger models while focusing on easier operation, improved ground following, higher spreading quality and reduced maintenance. Key upgrade is the adoption of hermetically sealed, oil-filled rotor gearboxes and the larger Permalink HD drive system, designed to extend service intervals and lower maintenance costs. The input shaft speed has been increased by 50% to reduce torque on the driveline, while reinforced rotor shafts improve durability.

The tedders continue to feature Claas’s proven Max Spread crop flow system, with tine arms angled 29.3 degrees behind the main axis and equal-length HD tines for consistent layer-by-layer forage pickup and even crop distribution. Tool-free adjustment allows spreading angles of 12, 16 or 18 degrees, with an optional hydraulic boundary spreading guard available.

All three-point-mounted models now come standard with the hydraulic CKL power suspension system, replacing the previous mechanical version. The system improves ground contour following, machine stability, transport comfort and headland maneuverability, while enabling operation with smaller tractors through a compact frame design that keeps the center of gravity close to the tractor.

Additional features include reduced hydraulic requirements, Kennfixx hydraulic couplings and integrated headland control, allowing operation with a single tractor control valve. Folded transport width remains below 3m.

The range also introduces night-swathing capability, either standard or optional depending on the model, to create night swaths by operating at a reduced speed to accelerate drying. The Voltos

The 1100 and 1100 T models also feature Claas’s 18-to-12 harvesting method, enabling flexible wilting management between mowing and swathing while reducing field passes, improving forage quality and increasing harvesting efficiency.

When folded, the tedders have a width of less than 3.00m. Thanks to the large chassis wheels, the Volto T models ensure safe and swift maneuvering on roads and tracks.
