New Holland North America launches the Speedrower 1 series self-propelled windrowers for enhanced crop quality and high capacity during narrow harvest windows. The new series combines increased horsepower, operator controls, upgraded cooling performance and relative yield monitoring, integrated with lifetime FieldOps connectivity.
New Holland launched the Speedrower PLUS Series in 2022. The Speedrower 1 Series represents the next evolution by bringing together more power, more productivity, more performance and more precision technology.
The new Speedrower 1 lineup includes four models ranging from 161 to 308 peak horsepower, including the Speedrower 301 with 285 rated horsepower and 308 peak horsepower. With the SensiDrive drive-by-wire system, the Speedrower 1 Series reaches field speeds up to 20 mph (32 km/h) and transport speeds up to 30 mph (48 km/).
A new 150-gallon (570 liter) fuel tank increases runtime by up to 43% compared with previous models. The larger tank gives the Speedrower 301 capacity to operate for a 10-hour workday without refueling. A redesigned cooling package with a larger rear screen, expanded cooling surface area and a hydraulic variable-speed reversing fan helps maintain machine performance in demanding field conditions.
The cooling system includes a fan reversing function with three operating scenarios: a five-second temperature failsafe reversal if the engine reaches 203° F (95° C), a customizable timer that automatically clears the screen when the PTO is active; and a manual power clean mode that activates a 20-second reversing cycle when the PTO is off.
The Speedrower 1 Series introduces Relative Yield Monitoring integrated with FieldOps connectivity. Relative Yield Monitoring generates real-time relative yield maps during harvest, helping to make in-cab decisions such as adjusting ground speed in lighter crops or managing cut quality in heavier forage.
Field data is automatically captured and stored in FieldOps, allowing to compare performance across fields and seasons. That information can help guide future agronomic decisions, including irrigation management, nutrient planning, pest scouting and zone-based soil sampling. FieldOps connectivity is included for life on all Speedrower 1 Series without recurring subscription fees.
The Speedrower 1 Series features the AutoFloat header floatation system. This system continuously monitors and adjusts floatation pressure to help maintain more consistent header ground pressure while reducing the need for manual adjustments. The operator can calibrate and fine-tune floatation from the cab using the IntelliView IV PLUS display, which features a larger 12.1-inch screen and larger icons.
Additional operator-focused features include Comfort Ride cab suspension and Terraglide rear axle suspension to improve ride quality and reduce fatigue during long mowing days.
All Speedrower 1 Series models are compatible with Durabine PLUS disc heads, Haybine sickle heads and Honey Bee WSC draper heads. Auto Header Identification remembers previous floatation and speed settings when switching between heads. The Speedrower 161 also introduces a new variable displacement header drive system that allows for disc cutting with the Durabine 413 PLUS disc header and enhances sickle head performance.
The new models also feature refreshed styling, including a black frame, silver rims and bold blue model numbering that visually distinguish the Speedrower 1 Series from prior generations.
