Dr. Jan Cachay will assume the position of Vice President and Managing Director of Production at Fendt, effective August 1, 2026. He succeeds Ekkehart Gläser, who will head AGCO‘s European production sites as Vice President of Manufacturing Europe & Middle East (EME).

Ekkehart Gläser will serve as Vice President of Manufacturing EME, overseeing the production facilities of Fendt, Valtra, and AGCO Power in the Europe & Middle East (EME) region. With this move to his new role, Ekkehart Gläser is expanding his area of responsibility from the German Fendt production sites to AGCO’s entire production network in the EME region (excluding the Massey Ferguson site in Beauvais). The position thus encompasses the management of the five Fendt production sites in Germany (Marktoberdorf, Asbach-Bäumenheim, Feucht, Hohenmölsen, Wolfenbüttel), the Valtra tractor plant in Suolahti, Finland, the AGCO Power engine plant in Linnavuori, Finland, and the combine harvester production factory in Breganze, Italy.

Ekkehart Gläser has been with AGCO since July 2011.  He began as plant manager at the Cab Competence Center in Asbach-Bäumenheim,
Here, aemong other things, he played an active role in overseeing the complete plant renovation as part of the Group’s “Fendt ahead²” project.

In January 2014, he moved to Marktoberdorf, where he has since served as Vice President and Managing Director of Production, overseeing the five German Fendt production sites. During this time, more than 800 million euros were invested in the modernization and expansion of the German production sites.

Over the course of 15 years at AGCO, more than 12 of which he spent as Managing Director of Production, Ekkehart has very successfully built up and further developed the production sites within his area of responsibility.

Dr. Jan Cachay will become the new Managing Director for Production. Cachay holds a PhD in industrial engineering. He will succeed Ekkehart Gläser as Fendt’s Managing Director of Production effective August 1, 2026. Cachay joined AGCO in 2019 and has served as plant manager of AGCO GmbH’s transmission factory in Marktoberdorf since the beginning of 2021.

“With Jan Cachay, an experienced production manager and a true Fendt expert is taking over the German plant network,” said Ekkehart Gläser. “I have personally been able to follow his career within our group from the very beginning and see the leadership qualities he possesses. The Production division is AGCO’s largest organizational unit in Germany and is also characterized by complex and interlocking structures, which Jan is well positioned to lead.”

Career milestones

As plant manager for the AGCO GmbH transmission factory in Marktoberdorf, Jan. Cachay is responsible for the production of shafts, gears and cast components, as well as the assembly and final inspection of transmissions for four customer brands. He oversees the day-to-day operations of the plant.
