John Deere shutting down Mazzotti

John Deere confirms the closure and liquidation of Mazzotti SRL, the self-propelled sprayer business headquartered in Ravenna, Italy. The decision follows a period of low order volumes for this product and is specific to this business.

Production of the John Deere 300M Series and Mazzotti sprayer families will be discontinued. Yet the company will continue to support the existing fleet with parts and service. John Deere remains focused on supporting customers during this transition.

John Deere acquired Mazzotti in 2017 to strengthen its position in the self-propelled sprayer segment, particularly in Europe. The move now is part of the company’s broader strategy to streamline its global operations around a more standardized product portfolio.

The Italian manufacturer is specialized in high-clearance self-propelled spraying equipment designed for specialty and row-crop applications.

John Deere’s move to shut down Mazzotti operations removes not only a specialized sprayer brand from the market, but also a manufacturing and supply platform used by other agricultural equipment companies such as Kverneland.

Since Mazzotti manufactures the chassis for the Kverneland iXdrive self-propelled sprayer, also production of this machine will be discontinued. Kverneland will stop sales of the iXdrive sprayer and is no longer accepting orders for new machines.
