EIMA: Room for thematic shows and market reflections

“The scientific, cultural, and political contents are also highly significant,” emphasized Simona Rapastella, “alongside the 14 specialization sectors and 5 thematic shows, the two Campus and Extend shows will be reserved for universities, research centers, professional organizations, and institutions, including CREA, with which FederUnacoma has signed a broad cooperation agreement.”

In light of the discouraging results from the first nine months of the agricultural machinery market, the exhibition will serve as an opportunity to monitor investment trends in agricultural technologies during a delicate phase of the global economy. FederUnacoma President Mariateresa Maschio focused on these aspects, pointing out that although the demand for technological innovation is potentially very high worldwide, the current economic climate is slowing down the market.

“The increase in production costs,” said Mariateresa Maschio, “burdens both the mechanical industry and agricultural enterprises, which in many cases lack the margins to invest in new technologies.” Throughout the year, many major markets – ranging from the United States to France, Germany, Turkey, and Brazil – have recorded a decline in tractor sales, largely due to falling agricultural incomes, driven by higher production costs and worsening climatic conditions.

“The strategy to tackle this phase,” concluded the President of the manufacturers, “must be multifaceted, providing access to new markets, such as Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Africa, public support strategies for purchasing mechanical equipment, and new investments in research and training.”

The role of innovation

Speaking about innovation, CREA President Andrea Rocchi stated that it “is effective when born from dialogue with the productive world it is intended for. The CREA-FederUnacoma agreement forms a common ground between research and businesses, capable of bridging needs and producing truly effective technological solutions. CREA’s participation in EIMA is the first concrete step of this collaboration to accelerate the transfer of innovation to agriculture.”

“EIMA represents Italy’s capacity to innovate, conduct research, and offer the world some of the absolute best agricultural machinery, capable of combining environmental and productive sustainability, thanks also to cooperation with research centers and schools,” commented the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forests, Francesco Lollobrigida. “As a government, we have invested nearly one billion euro in agricultural mechanization and strengthened, alongside other ministrier, instruments like the ISI fund for occupational safety, tripling the available resources. These interventions have allowed the sector to weather a particularly negative economic phase and confirm the attention dedicated to mechanization, safety, and sustainability.”
