Nordson Precision Agriculture, which includes the ARAG product line, has acquired agriculture technology company CapstanAG in the USA. As a result, Nordson strengthens its position on the North American market.

CapstanAG is known for its Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technology that improves efficiency of liquid distribution through nozzle-by-nozzle control in the ag spraying industry. The company’s solutions improve application effectiveness and reduce waste in row crops, orchards, seeding operations and aerial sprayers.

“The acquisition of CapstanAG represents a strategic step in our growth journey,” said Daniel Neves, vice president of Nordson Precision Agriculture. “CapstanAG strengthens our portfolio of fluid-management solutions and increases our presence in the North American market, further expanding our ability to support customers with modern technologies.”

“The combination of CapstanAG and ARAG will be beneficial to our customers and employees by having access to global infrastructure,” said Jeff Grimm, director of operations at CapstanAG. “In addition, access to good quality components and manufacturing capabilities will allow us to better serve our customers.”

CapstanAG brings specialized expertise and direct proximity to manufacturers and operators in the North American agricultural industry. Its strong customer focus is fully aligned with the growth objectives pursued by Nordson’s Ascend strategy.

“The integration of CapstanAG with our existing ARAG technology will enable us to serve customers with an even more comprehensive and technologically advanced offering,” added Daniel Neves. “Together, we will continue to pursue our strategic goals: serving our customers, strengthening leadership in key markets and delivering high quality products and services. This is a strategic integration that aligns vision, capabilities and customer-centric cultures.”

Nordson Precision Agriculture, a division of Nordson Corporation, develops and manufactures components and systems for spraying, weed control and crop protection for the precision agriculture industry. In 2023, Nordson acquired ARAG, provider of farm-management strategies that leverage data to improve productivity, sustainability, and resource-use efficiency.

CapstanAG develops advanced systems for liquid application in agriculture, specializing in pressure and flow distribution control technologies for sprayers, seeders and fertilizer applicators. The company is specialist in precision agriculture thanks to its Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technology. CapstanAG is headquartered in Topeka, Kansas, USA.
