Kuhn presents the Highlander stubble tine cultivator, designed to meet a variety of cultivation needs: shallow scalping, destroying and incorporating residues and weeds, levelling, and preparing the soil between crops. This cultivator adjusts its working depth from 3 to 20cm.
The new shallow tine cultivator is available in widths of 6 and 7.5 metres for tractors ranging from 180 to 400hp. Scalping with the Highlander reduces competition for nutrients and water, promoting better crop growth. Equipped with blades, the machine cuts through weed root systems, preventing regrowth and creating fine soil ideal for crop germination. The Highlander is designed for medium stubble cultivation. Mulching residues accelerates the decomposition of crop residues into organic matter, improving soil structure and fertility. Tilling promotes air and water circulation, which is essential for beneficial microorganisms, and facilitates plant root penetration. Ideal for incorporating, HIGHLANDER ensures even distribution of nutrients and reduces the risk of erosion.
Up to 8 gauge wheels can be fitted to the Highlander, coupled with a floating drawbar and floating extensions, ensuring fluent ground tracking both across the width and length of the machine. Working depth is controlled by the gauge wheels, allowing for consistent and uniform working depth at shallow depths.
With its 4 rows of tines and maintenance-free Non-Stop Mechanical safety features, the Highlander can withstand a point load of 350kg, ensuring safe and efficient use. The tines on the stubble cultivator can be fitted with wings and five different types of points: three” Durakarb” carbide points measuring 50mm, 65/35mm or 80/50mm, and two forged points measuring 60mm or 80mm. These options allow the tool to be adapted to various types of soil and working conditions.
At the front, the Highlander can be equipped with pre-cutting discs with adjustable pressure to effectively cut vegetation stems and facilitate the work of the tines. The levelling blades are ideal for light to medium soils, while the levelling discs are perfect for medium to heavy soils, even in the presence of vegetation.
The Highlander is equipped with a 550mm diameter Double U roller with adjustable pressure, or a triple harrow with hydraulic tilt adjustment, offering great flexibility of use. The triple harrow is designed to leave residues and roots on the surface, thus avoiding replanting. For autumn operations, it can also be used without a roller, allowing it to work effectively even in wetter conditions.
Finally, road transport of the Highlander is facilitated by a transport width of 3 metres and a height of less than 4 metres, in compliance with European standards. The machine is equipped with a hydraulic or pneumatic braking system and suspension, ensuring optimum safety during transport.
