John Deere guarantees fuel efficiency

John Deere helps its customers who own a 8600 forage harvester, in achieving productivity, profitability, and reinvestment confidence. With fuel costs representing approximately 50% of the total operational expenses of a forage harvester, the company unveils a pioneering initiative for the 2025 harvesting season to ease the financial burden.

For the upcoming season (March – November), John Deere will customers offer a fuel guarantee on flagship 8600 standard body forage harvesters. The company pledges a seasonal average fuel consumption of 48 liters per hour, encompassing work, idle, and transport times. This fuel guarantee program is tailored to empower forage harvester owners to manage their expenses more effectively.

The fuel guarantee is applicable to all retail sales of the 8600 harvester models from November 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025. In the event that a machine surpasses the average consumption of 48 liters per hour, John Deere will reimburse the customer for the excess fuel usage per liter.

Conversely, for machines that meet or consume less than 48 liters per hour, the company will credit the customer with €10,000. These fuel reimbursements and credits will be directly allocated to the customer’s account at their local dealership for utilization towards parts and services.

“This pioneering fuel guarantee initiative marks a significant milestone in the forage harvester industry” says Scott Mackenzie, Product Marketing Manager for Forage Harvesters at John Deere. “By offering this commitment, we are confident that John Deere will alleviate uncertainties and assist our customers in making informed decisions for their future operational investments.”
