In the spring of 2025, Vervaet will celebrate the 35th anniversary of its Hydro Trike self-propelled slurry injector. Approximately 1,000  of these machines have been built since 1990, most of which during the past decade. At the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Hydro Trike next year, Vervaet launches a special 35th anniversary edition.

The Hydro Trike started as a simple machine for contractors who were looking for solutions to meet with new manure legislation of the Dutch government in 1990. Nowadays, the Hydro Trike has evolved  into an important player in the self-propelled market for liquid manure application.

A prototype in 1990, a first series in 1991, a 5 wheel version in 2020, a 5×5  model in 2021, the trike went through ongoing  evolution. The Hydro Trike is characterized by the use of DAF engines, CLAAS cabs, axles from OMSI and above all, its own VSG transmission.

This, together with the construction of the machine, enables a low cost price per m3 for contractors. To serve all markets, the Quad 550 also followed in 2021 for export markets and 4-wheel models in the Netherlands.

The Vervaet Hydro Trike 35 years edition is characterized by the red-black color scheme and special stickers with the uniquely designed 35 years logo. The 3- and 5-wheelers now come standard with electronic, central lubrication. A floor mat specially designed for the 2025 batch is standard in the cab.

“A lot has changed in the past 35 years, also at Vervaet”, says commercial director Jonathan Hoekman. “The Hydro Trike however has always taken a strong position in the slurry injector market. The successful arrival of the Quad 550 underlines this, because Hydro Trike sales have not suffered. As a family business, now with the 3rd generation of Vervaet, our aim is to add another 35 years to this success.”
