BKT has designed the Agrimax-V-Flecto tire that is performing well in every field work, including rotary tilling and seedbed preparation. It provides maximum traction, soil protection, and operational efficiency, thereby addressing the challenges that rotary tilling operations pose to tires.
Freshly tilled soil becomes soft and unstable, leading to an increased risk of slipping and a potential loss of traction. Moreover, it is important to use equipment that minimizes soil compaction, which would undermine the previously performed soil refinement. Another factor to consider is the unpredictability of weather conditions typical of the spring season. All these challenges are addressed by a single tire: the Agrimax V-Flecto, resulting from a combination of maximum field performance and the versatility required for road travel.
One of this tire’s features is the VF technology, which enables transport of 40% heavier loads compared to a standard tire at the same inflation pressure. “VF technology directly translates into a key benefit for rotary tilling, since operating at lower pressures results in a wider footprint on the ground, helping to distribute the tractor’s weight over a larger surface area and thus drastically reducing the compaction of freshly tilled soil,” explains Piero Torassa, Field Engineering Director, BKT Europe. “Nowadays, soil compaction is one of the crucial factors affecting productivity and sustainability of farming activities, as well as being fundamental to preserving soil fertility.”
Good self-cleaning capability is another feature of Agrimax V-Flecto, which helps keep the lugs clean even in muddy conditions. This preserves traction throughout the entire workday. Yet, there are other tangible and measurable benefits of this such as reduced slippage, leading to lower fuel consumption and higher hourly productivity. In addition, the lateral stability of the tyre improves accuracy in field operations and enhances operator comfort.
