AGCO expanded its operations in Jundiaí (SP) Brazil, with the opening of two new facilities: the Reman Transmissions Center of Excellence and the AGCO Academy headquarters.

With an investment of USD 3.2 million, AGCO Jundiaí opens the first Reman Transmission Center of Excellence in South America, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainability and professional development in the agribusiness. AGCO Chairman, President & CEO Eric Hansotia was on hand to commemorate the milestone.

“Our vision is to be the trusted partner for smart farming solutions, and these investments are helping us deliver on that commitment in Brazil and throughout South America,” said Hansotia. “With AGCO’s first Reman Center of Excellence for agricultural transmissions in South America, we can increase opportunities for farmers to have access to high-quality, sustainable products at a fraction of the price. The expansion of AGCO Academy will also help us train more technicians who will provide critical support to keep farmers operating. I am proud of these steps forward on our Farmer First journey.”

The Reman Transmissions Center of Excellence will have 1,750 square meters dedicated to the remanufacturing of continuously variable transmissions (CVT) and mechanical transmissions, aimed at supporting uptime and reducing costs for farmers. The goal is to produce 120 CVT and 120 mechanical transmissions in the first year. Mechanics who will be working at the Reman Transmissions Center of Excellence are currently receiving training in Germany and Finland to ensure the highest standards of technical and operational excellence.

The national remanufacturing of transmissions will offer a high-performance solution aligned with AGCO’s brands high standards and at on average 30% lower cost to farmers. Designed according to factory specifications, the remanufactured CVT and mechanical transmissions carry the same warranties and rigorous quality controls as new components. The production of remanufactured mechanical transmissions will begin in April 2025, with the reman CVT production to start at the end of 2025.

To strengthen AGCO’s focus on technical training and professional development, the new AGCO Academy headquarters in Jundiaí replaces the previous center in Campinas and will offer training to professionals who work in the support and maintenance of agricultural machinery. The 2,300 square meter structure is designed to offer a spacious and modern environment, dedicated exclusively to awarding agricultural qualifications for AGCO’s leading brands: Fendt, Massey Ferguson and Valtra.

“The opening of the new AGCO Academy headquarters in Jundiaí illustrates AGCO’s commitment to ongoing training as a key driver of Brazilian agribusiness. Amidst the digital transformation and new technological advancements that are reshaping the agricultural sector, technical expertise is crucial for the sector’s continued progress,” said Rodrigo Junqueira, Vice President, Massey Ferguson, South America and General Manager, South America.

With the capacity to train around 600 technicians per year, AGCO Academy offers commercial, parts and management training, as well as technical training. One of the key differentiators of the new facility is the integration of training with a broader view of the company’s internal operations. During the training sessions, technicians can visit the AGCO Parts distribution center and learn about the logistics system that enables the availability of parts for maintenance.
