John Deere introduces its “Precision Ag Essentials Package”. This  is a low-upfront-cost retrofit Precision Ag technology kit for every type of farming operation, to utilize the latest John Deere Precision Ag Technology.

The retrofit solution includes essential hardware components and a choice between two time based feature licenses, providing farmers with increased flexibility and control over their smart farming journey.

“With this package, farmers have more options to kickstart their smart farming initiatives or upgrade their fleet to the latest technology regardless of make or age of the equipment”, says Dr. Natalia Pauge, product marketing manager Precision Ag for Europe at John Deere. “Low upfront costs and the annual license model allow maximum flexibility as users can continue, pause or terminate their precision ag application after one year, so they only pay for what their farm needs.”

Priced at  €2990, the package comprises the John Deere precision agriculture hardware crucial for precision farming activities:

  • G5 Plus Universal Display with a 32.5 cm touchscreen and full AEF ISOBUS compatibility
  • StarFire 7500 Universal Receiver with SF1 correction signal for accuracy within +/-15 cm
  • JDLink M-Modem with JDLink connectivity service

These hardware components serve as the foundation for bringing smart farming into practice or expanding existing precision ag capabilities and provide a cost-effective retrofitting solution suitable for all machines and brands. The inclusion of the John Deere Operations Center, a cloud-based farm and machine management system, further enhances the functionality of the “Precision Ag Essentials Package”, enabling users to optimize their farming operations seamlessly.

In order to use the hardware on machinery, farmers can choose between the following two time-based feature licenses.

The “Precision Ag Essentials Package” offers farmers key benefits such as significantly lower upfront costs to access state-of-the-art hardware and precision farming technologies and flexible annual license options that allow users to select and pay for the features that best suit their farming operations. Also, the system evolves over time with automatic software updates to enhance performance and add new or improve existing features.

Xavier Lacombe, Sales Lead Precision Ag for Europe at John Deere, emphasizes the versatility of this offering: “Farmers now have the choice between a one-time purchase of hardware with permanent license or the “Precision Ag Essentials Package” for a more flexible entry into the smart farming area. At an attractive price point, they can explore and start to benefit from basic or advanced precision farming features tailored to their specific farming needs.”
