For the 14th time, The New Holland Photojournalism Award, one of the most important and traditional photography awards in South America, started on August 24 with a moving exhibition of selected images.
This year’s contest is 14th edition. The first city to receive the exhibition is Curitiba, Brazil, where the 31 selected photographs will be exhibited until November 21st at the Museum of Image and Sound of Paraná (MIS/PR). Admission is free.
Among the highlights is the image “Harvest”, from the photographer Sergio Ranalli, from Londrina (PR) Brazil, who was the winner in the category Professional Camera. Also present in the exhibition are the image “Corn Harvest”, produced by Rodrigo Arabori, from Terra Bonita (PR), winner of the Amateur Machine category; “The Raw Land”, by Ricardo Wolffenbüttel, from Florianópolis (SC), winner in the Professional Field category; and the photograph “Simplicity”, by Noilton Pereira de Lacerda, winner of the Amateur Field category.
“For New Holland, the Photojournalism Award is an opportunity to bring people closer to the reality of the field, showing the diversity of agriculture in South America. As we are a brand that is always close to farmers, we want to take this message to the whole society, who can not only admire the excellent work of these photographers, whether professionals or enthusiasts, but also get to know a little bit more, through the images of this exhibition, the strength of agriculture in our continent”, says Gustavo Taniguchi, Commercial Marketing Director for New Holland Agriculture in South America.
In its 14-year history, some 25,000 images have been sent in for the New Holland Photojournalism Award. The current edition of the competition saw 2,201 images submitted by 530 professional and amateur photographers. The participating countries were: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
