More Tempo and Proceed precision

Väderstad launches the next generation row unit for the Tempo planter and Proceed seed drill. During the last 15 years, the Tempo has been specialist in high-speed planting precision. The new row unit takes that legacy even further.

“Over the years, our current row unit has been continuously refined with new features and improved accuracy. But this time, we went back to the drawing board. The result ia complete redesign”, says Oskar Karlsson, Vice President Product & Development Planters, at Väderstad.

The new row unit comes with the following new features:

  • Planting depth setting from a prescription map
  • Easier seed tube change
  • Easier switch between crops
  • An even narrower seed slot
  • New electronics
  • New seed hoppers
  • Upgraded seed meters with one-handed seed meter opening
  • More intuitive and durable design

The most visible change is the new design, giving the machines a more modern and refined appearance.

“Throughout development, we focused on user-friendliness, making every step of operation smoother and more intuitive. To boost performance, we’ve added more cab-controlled functions, such as electronic planting depth setting and electronic closing wheel pressure adjustment. These enhancements allow controlling the machine directly from the cab while on the move”, says Oskar Karlsson. “Another major focus during development has been planting precision. For example, we’ve found a way to tighten the seed disc angles to ensure an even narrower seed furrow. This leads to even better seed placement at high planting speeds.”

To match different farming needs, the new row unit can be configurated with a full range of options and features. The row unit is available in both a central-fill version with a 5-litre mini-hopper, as well as a standard version with a larger seed hopper on the row unit.

The new row unit will be fitted to all Tempo and Proceed product models from June 2026. This includes Tempo R 4-6, Tempo F 6-8, Tempo T 6-7, Tempo V 6-12, Tempo R 12-18, Tempo L 8-24, Tempo K 24, as well as Proceed V 24.

At the same time as the new row unit enters serial production, the current row unit will be discontinued. The new row unit for Tempo and Proceed will premiere at the upcoming Agritechnica international trade show in Hanover, Germany, this coming November.
