The Kubota KATR is a four-wheeled robot, designed to provide a stable platform on uneven terrain. It features a unique stability control system that adjusts the robot’s four legs to maintain a level cargo deck, even on hills and slopes. The all-terrain KATR has earned a “Best of Innovation” in the CES Innovation Awards 2025 program.
Powered by either diesel engine or electric drive, the robot has a load capacity of 240 kg and can be controlled either remotely or via an onboard controller. The KATR from Kubota is compact, yet robust enough for off-road applications in agriculture and construction.
The CES innovation awards program honors outstanding products based on criteria such as engineering and functionality, aesthetic and design, and what makes the product unique and innovative.
The KATR provides its stable platform by hydraulically bending and extending its four legs. It is able to transport loads over uneven terrain without tilting the cargo deck. With its ability to transport a variety of different loads, the KATR is well-suited for a wide range of applications, from agriculture and forestry through to construction and even disaster response.
It can make pivot turns, allowing to work in small spaces. The KATR is equipped with a conventional engine, but a battery-powered electric version is also under development.
