In April 2025, New Holland donated a TT 75 tractor to the community of Bugiri, Uganda, through the work of God in Action Uganda (GiAU), an orphanage and community relief organization. One year later, the enormous impact that the donation of this tractor has generated within the community, has become clear.
The tractor’s impact has gone far beyond being a piece of agricultural equipment, it has become a catalyst for social, economic, and community transformation in Bugiri.
Sourced from Turkey, the TT tractor is used on the organization’s farm to accelerate its mission of creating a fully self-sustaining agricultural system that provides long-term support for both children and elders in need. The farm represents a crucial pillar of GiAU’s vision: to cultivate the resources needed to feed the community of Bugiri, generate income, and ultimately build a dedicated dormitory that will offer a safe and permanent home for the orphans under their care.
By strengthening their ability to produce and sell crops, the organization aims to secure a future marked by dignity, independence, and opportunity. “When you donated the tractor, you did far more than provide a piece of machinery,” said GiAU’s founder, Mandela Salim Buluma. “You gave the children and the wider community a sustainable way to feed themselves with their own hands. The tractor’s impact was immediate and profound. Fields that were once worked slowly by hand can now be cultivated efficiently. More land has been planted, more crops harvested, and this has directly translated into fuller plates, smiling faces, and renewed hope for the 109 children in Mandela’s care.”
Farmers from the surrounding community have also been able to access the tractor’s capabilities, strengthening the resilience of the entire village. What began as a single act of generosity has grown into a shared resource, empowering local agricultural development and community cooperation.
“Our donation has inspired a truly transformative impact, and God in Action Uganda is now an Ambassador for the New Holland brand within the Bugiri region,” said Özkan Eren, Business Director Middle East & Africa for New Holland. “The tractor has become a symbol of partnership and kindness, proof that people who may never meet in person can still profoundly impact each other’s lives.”
To express their gratitude, Mr. Mandela recorded and shared a heartfelt video message, now circulating throughout the local community.
