BBLeap, specialist in precision spraying technology, has closed a €5.0 million investment round. The round was led by investors ESquare Capital and Yield Lab Europe, alongside existing shareholders including the founders and early investors BOM and Beheermaatschappij Vriend.
This funding is strategically allocated to finalize the commercial release of LeapEye, an advanced broadacre camera system, and to prioritize the global expansion of the LeapBox. According to CEO Peter Millenaar, BBLeap provides 100% assurance to spray exactly what is needed, delivering good applications, fewer diseases, and fewer weeds, while using significantly fewer chemicals. This has also been confirmed by the recently received official approval from the Julius Kühn Institute (JKI) in Germany.
With over 200 users already operating BBLeap systems across Europe and Australia, and a launch currently underway in Canada, the advantages of BBLeap system are chemical reductions between 20% and 99% and capacity increase of up to 40%.
Representing the investor consortium, Daan Wilms van Kersbergen (Yield Lab Europe) and Bob Rottinghuis & Robert Lodewegen (ESquare Capital as lead investor) consider BBLeap a major advancement in both sustainability and its high-performance hardware with proprietary software.
