At Agritechnica, the annual Tractor of the Year (TOTY) awards were again granted. Sponsored by BKT Tires, the winners of the 2026 edition were elected and awarded during a ceremony at the show. TOTY recognizes modern technology tractors in six different categories.

This year’s TOTY election was concluded after a thorough selection and evaluation process, involving the leading tractor manufacturers and a jury of 25 specialist journalists from across Europe. At the heart of this season’s competition are the major themes setting the course for the industry: more sustainable technologies, greater energy efficiency, autonomy and digitalization, and reduced environmental impact. These trends are taking on an increasingly strategic role and position this annual event as an important technological showcase.

At Agritechnica, BKT and Tractor of the Year celebrate the innovation shaping agriculture. Year after year, this award pays tribute to those who design the machines to till the land while already looking beyond the horizon, envisioning the future.  The award ceremony at Agritechnica thus becomes an international showcase for recognizing the tractor models that best interpret this transformation in each category.

“In agriculture, innovation is not an option: it is the path to continue feeding the world in a  both intelligent and respectful manner. Tractor of the Year rewards those who make this vision a reality, every day. For BKT, supporting this award means believing in a bold vision of progress: shared, sustainable, and driven by people’s talent. Only by joining forces, knowledge, and tools can we build an agricultural future that truly meets global challenges.” says Lucia Salmaso, Managing Director, BKT Europe.

” Tractor of the Year is not just an award, but a true observatory on the evolution of farming technology. Each edition enables us to analyze how research and innovation are transforming tractors into increasingly advanced, intelligent, and connected machinery,” comments Fabio Zammaretti, President, Tractor of the Year. “TOTY also provides us with privileged insights into technological trends, allowing us to understand how the sector is moving and, above all, bringing visibility to the manufacturers who are defining the future of agriculture.”

About Tractor of the Year (TOTY)

Tractor of the Year is an international award, recognizing excellence in agricultural mechanization. The election was founded in 1998 by Italian magazine Trattori. This annual accolade is bestowed upon the top-performing tractor as determined by a group of 25 independent journalists from across Europe with specialized knowledge in the field.

Comprising a diverse range of media outlets, including print magazines, websites, agricultural TV shows, and social networks, the international jury represents 25 countries, ensuring a comprehensive and unbiased evaluation of the nominated tractors.

As the jury and the Tractor of the Year project continue to expand, their shared mission remains steadfast: to uncover and highlight the very best technologies and solutions that contribute to the advancement of agricultural mechanization.
