Valtra and AGCO Power jointly developed the CO₂ Calculator concept. This solution detects the type of fuel used and calculates the operational carbon footprint of agricultural machinery.
The CO₂ calculator combines an engine-mounted fuel sensor with a cloud-based software solution that calculates accurate CO₂ emissions in real time. The visualized and stored data enables farmers to present verified figures to customers and supply chain partners.
Agricultural traders also recognize the value of the solution. Bianca Lind, Managing Director of VERAVIS GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Agravis Raiffeisen AG states:
“VERAVIS is committed to supporting farmers in meeting the requirements of the EU Green Deal while ensuring sustainable and profitable crop production. By integrating the AGCO Power CO₂ Calculator, we enhance the accuracy of our site- and crop-specific Product Carbon Footprint calculations. Validated, site-specific fuel usage data strengthens the credibility of sustainability reporting and simplifies documentation for all stakeholders—especially the farmer.”
The CO₂ Calculator will be presented during the upcoming Agritechnica tradeshow in Hanover, Germany.
