Metsjö presents Oil Saver, a new optional system for the company’s hook lift systems. The Oil Saver system reduces the need for large hydraulic oil tanks and completely eliminates the requirement for a separate PTO-driven hydraulic system.
By using accumulator tanks that temporarily store hydraulic oil when not in use, even medium-sized tractors can power heavy hydraulic functions. The result is a simpler, safer, and more cost-efficient operation.
Oil Saver operates fully automatically. During the work cycle, hydraulic oil is buffered in the system’s accumulator tanks and then returned to the tractor when needed. The system can be expanded with additional accumulator tanks depending on tractor size and requirements.
System pressure is automatically regulated and displayed on a pressure gauge or the tractor’s ISOBUS display. A pressure limiter ensures that maximum pressure never exceeds 170 bar, and a shut-off valve allows the system to be safely depressurized during service. Oil saver requires significantly less maintenance than a PTO-driven hydraulic system.
The new system will be showcased at Agritechnica.
