Handling diverse crop conditions

John Deere equips its new F8|F9 Series self-propelled forage harvesters with the new Kemper 400Pro Multicrop header. This offers more driving comfort, as well as an advanced solution for efficient forage harvesting across diverse crop conditions.

At the heart of the new Kemper headers is the optional ComfortRide and ComfortProtect system, which delivers an ultimate driving experience and stability during transport. These two new Comfort options are available in addition to the current Comfort Wheel solution. Special feature is the integrated transport wheel, positioned centrally in front of the header.

With its large diameter and wide contact surface, it offers maximum load absorption and optimum weight distribution. The wheel’s 360° rotation enhances maneuverability, reduces tire wear, and improves driving comfort. Transitioning between transport and harvest mode takes just 30 seconds from the cab, streamlining operations and saving valuable time. The improved suspension and ergonomic design reduce operator fatigue, contributing to a more comfortable working environment.

The integrated, hydraulically driven side knives enable multi-crop capability, ensuring smooth harvesting even in heavily intergrown or entangled crops. Additionally, an enhanced lighting package improves visibility in low-light conditions, supporting safe and efficient operation during extended working hours. The header components are designed and built to simplify maintenance and extend service intervals, reducing downtime and operating costs. Philippe Steinmann, Go-to-Market Manager Europe at John Deere, commented: “The integration of the new Kemper 400Pro header into our new F8|F8 forage harvesters reflects our commitment to delivering practical, high-performance solutions to European customers. The combination of enhanced driving experience, multi-crop capabilities, and automation helps achieve more capacity with less effort.”
