The largest mounted GMD 15030 disc mower from Kuhn is now available. Thanks to its impressive 14.50-meter working width, combined with a 3.10-metre front unit, it is truly a high output machine.
Despite its massive working width, the triple mower is compact in transport mode for safe road travel, including when combined with a 3.10-meter front mower. The GMD 15030 keeps a similar size to Kuhn’s other triple mower models, which do not exceed 3 meters in width and 4 meters in height for transport.
The mower has 4 aligned cutter bars which hold 7 discs. Its patented gearbox is designed for optimum transport compactness and efficient power transmission at work. In addition, it is articulated between each cutter bar for improved ground following.
To control the machine, the operator can choose between the user-friendly “KFA 12” control box and the “ISOBUS Mower Control” kit. With this kit, all machine functions can be controlled via an ISOBUS terminal and an AUX-N joystick, which provide increased user comfort. As a result, it is possible to manage headland turns, machine folding and unfolding with these controls.
The mower is equipped with robust “Optidisc Elite” cutter bars, requiring no maintenance. It also comes with the “Fast-Kit” knife-attachment system which limits downtime.
If the machine meets an obstacle, the “Lift-Control” system, combined with the “Non-Stop” safety system, pivots the mowing unit rearwards, giving it extra floatation capacity and making it easier to pass over the object. The mowing unit moves back into work position automatically once it has past the obstacle.
Finally, the GMD 15030’s weight is limited to 3.8 tons, just like a conventional belt mower. As a result, depending on conditions, 230 horsepower is sufficient to drive it.
