As of 1 August 2025, Ronald Slaats has taken on the role of Group Managing Director of Zweegers Equipment Group (ZWEQ), supplier of machinery and equipment for agriculture and other sectors. His appointment marks the next step in the company’s growth and strengthening of its leadership team.

In his new role, Slaats will assume daily management of the entire group and will report directly to Gerrit van der Scheer, who will serve as Executive Chairman of the Management Board. In this position, Van der Scheer will focus on the company’s strategic direction and further growth through acquisitions.

In recent years, Slaats has made his mark as CEO of Mechan International, a subsidiary of ZWEQ. In that capacity, he was responsible for international expansion into Canada and Italy. He led the integration of AgWest and the expansion of Canadian operations, as well as the acquisitions and integrations of Agri Verde and Busato in Italy. He also played a key role in consolidating activities in Northern Italy.

“With his broad international experience, strong network within the sector, and excellent relationships with strategic suppliers, Slaats is the right person to lead ZWEQ into its next phase of growth,” said Van der Scheer. Prior to joining Mechan International, Slaats held various executive positions, including CEO of De Meeuw Group and CEO of De Lage Landen International.
