Bednar Galaxy GE goes wider

Bednar introduces the Galaxy GE 12300 Cambridge roller, bigger version of the 6300 and 8300 models, developed for large scale farming. The trailed roller can be used for preparing the soil before sowing, to till the soil after sowing or to maintain meadows. Like the other two models in the range, it can be equipped with the Alfa Drill 800 seeding unit.

The new Galaxy GE 12300 is a 12.3 meter version of the current Cambridge roller. Its chassis has been strengthened and made suitable for supporting the five sections of the roller. An advantage of this frame is its compatibility with a crush levelling bar or seeding unit. In addition, its weight of almost 10 tons makes it possible to better press the soil and increase the clod breaking effect of the roller.

The cast iron segments are mounted alternately: a smooth segment (diameter 500 mm) followed by a toothed segment (diameter 530 mm). Their durability is ensured by a compression spring mounted at the end of the shaft which exerts constant pressure on all the segments.

The design of the new Galaxy enables ground contouring over its entire 12 meter width. Each of the five sections are connected to the chassis, with mountings enabling the rollers free to move. The renewed hydraulic system ensures the weight of the machine to evenly be distributed over all the sections.

The crushbar feature allows light tillage, particularly  useful for levelling ploughing or maintaining grassland. Full hydraulic operation can be carried out from the in-cab control.

The GE 12300 is equipped with large pneumatic tyres in 500/50-17 as standard. These offer great stability to the roller, which can be optionally equipped with hydraulic or pneumatic brakes.
