A unique dispenser was designed and made by students through an internship at the Fendt site in Hohenmölsen, Germany. It is housed in the bonnet of a Fendt 728 Vario and enables drinking beer and other drinks from the tap.
“In Germany, we need qualified employees who can carry out their work responsibly, demonstrating commitment and technical expertise. That’s why the Fendt management board supported an apprentices’ special project to build a drink dispensing station”, said Dr. Josef Mayer, Vice President and Managing Director of Fendt R&D in Hohenmölsen. “As a result, using initiative and creativity, some of our apprentices have built a mobile drink dispenser in the bonnet of a Fendt 700 Vario. This is not only an aesthetically pleasing device, but also works perfectly from a technical point of view.”
The idea to develop the dispenser station came from “AGRILL“, the German Farmers’ Association in Schleswig-Holstein. Through this initiative, the association aims to boost confidence in regional agriculture and locally produced food. AGRILL encourages agricultural engineering companies to allow their apprentices design and build their own systems, such as self-designed barbecue stations or this outdoor drink dispensing station. These projects aim to bring people together under the motto “Enjoying together” and set an example for culinary delights and diversity.
The dry cooling system has a cooling capacity of 100 litres per hour. It is housed in a Fendt 728 Vario bonnet with the original lighting fully integrated. Through this “special project”, the apprentices learnt to work independently, contribute their own creative ideas and gain valuable experience in project management.
Location with future prospects
Since 2012, the Fendt site in Hohenmölsen in Saxony-Anhalt state has been training apprentices in technical professions. During the construction of the drink dispenser, a construction mechanic and two industrial mechanics from Fendt, as well as an industrial mechanic from MIBRAG, demonstrated their skills. All apprentices in Hohenmölsen begin their basic technical training at the MIBRAG (Mitteldeutsche Braunkohlengesellschaft GmbH) training centre. MIBRAG is supporting the region’s transformation process from a coal mining area to providing energy and industrial services, and offers various commercial and technical apprenticeships.
