AI-based robotic control goes global

Antobot, provider of robotic solutions for the horticulture industry, expands globally with its uRCU (universal Robot Control Unit). The AI-powered, embedded control unit, has specifically been designed for Agri-Robots. It makes AI technology accessible to farming on a broad scale.

While the agri-robotic space is gathering momentum there is huge fragmentation meaning that combining disparate technologies into a working and economically viable solution is problematic. Antobot’s uRCU delivers a cost-effective, automotive-grade, compact and universally compatible all-in-one solution making AI-powered automation and precision control accessible to farms of all sizes.

The uRCU compliments Antobot’s existing autonomous robotic ecosystem including AntoOS, an end-to-end operating system, AntoVision & AntoMove , AI-driven perception and motion systems and the Modular Robot Platform, an adaptable, robust and cost effective autonomous robot which is adaptable to provide specific on farm applications including; scouting, spraying, logistics, and UV treatment.

Antobot is currently deploying commercial robot applications at scale on farms globally with this ecosystem – using autonomy and AI to increase resilience to labor challenges and develop sustainable growing methods.

Marc Jones, VP of Commercial at Antobot, said, “In order for robotics to reach their potential in agritech, there needs to be a common universal controller which seamlessly integrates AI-driven automation and control into one unit. The uRCU unit does just that, working with existing agriculture systems as well as our own ecosystem of end-to-end autonomous robotic solutions.”

Powering the cm precision accuracy that these autonomous robotic solutions require to work effectively in confined and challenging environments, Antobot uses u-blox’s PointPerfect PPP-RTK GNSS services which provide centimeter level positioning accuracy, global coverage and a flexible and predictable pricing structure.
