More AVR potato harvesters to India

Agristo Masa from India and AVR from Belgium are strengthening their cooperation with a new investment intent. Stefan Top, Managing Director of AVR and Agristo Masa signed an agreement for the purchase of two more AVR potato harvesters within the next two years.

The deal was signed during the recent Belgian Economic Mission to India (26 February – 5 March 2025) which was led by Princess Astrid from Belgium. The agreement follows delivery of an AVR harvester earlier this year.

The mission brought together a broad delegation of Belgian companies and policymakers, aimed to strengthen economic ties between Belgium and India. As part of this, several trade agreements and collaborations were announced, including the further expansion of Agristo Masa and the first AVR machine in the Indian market.

With this agreement, Agristo Masa and AVR are taking another step in their international growth, leveraging Belgian technology globally. Stefan Top emphasizes the uniqueness of this deal: “This is unique in India. The fields are small, which holds for the entire agriculture sector in India. Like in other developing countries, we are seeing rural depopulation, which means there are less people available to harvest manually. As a result, mechanization is becoming increasingly important to future-proof agriculture in India.”

With the help of AVR potato harvesters, Agristo Masa can count on a more efficient harvesting process, increased capacity and a smooth supply of high-quality potatoes, which is essential for their production lines.
