John Deere and Dinamica teaming up

John Deere and Dinamica Generale entered into a strategic partnership on precise feeding technology. Also Dinamica Generale has become the first strategic partner for the Milk Sustainability Center.

As the dairy and beef industry further evolves towards data driven decision making, precise feeding technology matters more and more. The aim of the strategic partnership is to empower farmers with the tools to optimize their feeding operations, reduce environmental impact, and meet the growing demands for sustainable practices in dairy farming. Using precise feeding technology improves feeding efficiency and thus has a positive impact on dairy farmers’ profit and their CO2 footprint per kilogram milk produced.

The strategic partnership will focus on enabling customers to upgrade their feeder mixer wagon fleet to let more farmers and their consulting nutritionists benefit from precise feeding technology. It complements the existing Dinamica Generale OEM business, which remains untouched.

The collaboration will start as a pilot in the Netherlands and will include the existing Dinamica Generale precise feeding portfolio, as well as an early testing of future solutions to enhance the level of automated data communication between John Deere tractors and feeder mixer wagons. The pilot is the foundation for further geographical expansion towards other countries.

“Feed costs sum up to about 60% of the total production costs per kilogram milk or beef and can exceed 2.000€ per head and year”, says Alexander Berges, Production System Manager at John Deere. “While non-feed costs decline with growing herd sizes, feed costs show, of course, little sensitivity. Feeding animals more precisely with data driven technology offers great potential for farmers to reduce a large portion of their input costs.”

Dinamica Generale plays a major role for precise feeding technology in Europe. Its technology is available for most feeder mixer wagons. This includes a weight-based entry solution and an advanced weight- and constituent-based solution. Both are Dinamica Generale DTM cloud connected with interfaces towards other dairy industry companies.

Milk Sustainability Center

John Deere and DeLaval recently launched the Milk Sustainability Center, an innovative digital ecosystem designed to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of dairy farming operations. Developed through a joint effort initiated in September 2023, the Milk Sustainability Center integrates data on crop and animal performance into a unified tool, aiming to empower farmers to optimize their operations, reduce environmental impact, and meet the growing demands for sustainable practices in dairy farming.

Dinamica Generale now becomes the first strategic partner for the Milk Sustainability Center to complement and fully leverage the potential of this digital ecosystem by bringing field, feed, and animal data together. Dairy farmers thus benefit from the seamless data flow from feeder mixer wagon to Dinamica Generale’s DTM cloud to the Milk Sustainability Center.
