Three years after launching the Nexos 200 Comfort specialised tractors, Claas now introduces a revised version with a new four-pillar cab, updated design and enhanced comfort and automatic function.
Positioned above the Nexos Trend, the Nexos 200 Comfort range currently includes four model series with engine outputs from 85 to 120 hp, optional sprung PROACTIV front axle and external widths from 1.0 to 1.55 meters. A 3.6-litre four-cylinder FPT engine with Stage V SCR exhaust gas aftertreatment system and 600-hour oil change interval provides a powerful, efficient drive and ample torque reserves even on steep slopes. Furthermore, a 100-litre fuel tank (Nexos S: 75 l) provides sufficient reserves for challenging tasks on long working days, whether in vineyards, hopyards, orchards, tree nurseries or for municipal work.
The new, larger four-pillar cab is available for all Claas Nexos S, M, L and XL models from year 2025
Flat floor and optimised visibility
The new, larger cab is the highlight of the Nexos 200 Comfort. The four-pillar construction with wide-opening doors provides all-round view and ensures a high level of comfort and safety when stepping up and down from the cab. The completely flat floor with no annoying transmission tunnel improves ride comfort, especially on long working days. The ergonomic control elements in the right-hand console are still in their usual place, as are the control indicators on the steering wheel instrument panel. However, the steering column with anti-slip leather steering wheel is new to the Nexos, more usually found in the larger Claas tractors and Jaguar forage harvesters or combine harvesters.
In line with the new cab look, the Nexos Comfort also features new LED rear lights, LED side-marker lights and LED indicators as well as higher powered LED work lights.
The cab provides all-round view and ensures comfort and safety when stepping up and down from the cab.
A further comfort feature is the optional “Dynamic Steering” function. Once activated, only 1.5 turns of the wheel are needed to go from one steering lock to the other when performing turning manoeuvres in narrow orchards, two fewer than in normal steering mode, which is also used for road travel.
The non-slip leather steering wheel is familiar from Claas harvesters and mid-range and large tractors,
as is the Dynamic Steering comfort steering function, now also available for the Nexos Comfort.
Driving without clutch pedal
The Twinshift transmission with five gears in three ranges, two powershift speeds and Revershift clutchless reverser, provides 30 finely tuned forward gear ratios and 15 reverse, while the mechanical reverser has 30 reverse gears. The top speed of 40km/h is reached at a quiet and fuel-efficient 1,650 rpm.
The Smart Stop function now offers more comfort and safety. The transmission disengages automatically when the foot brake is depressed, and gently re-engages when the brake is released. This simplifies stopping and starting on slopes or at junctions, and when attaching implements and trailers.
Shifting between ranges goes by pressing the clutch button on the shift lever to change direction electrohydraulically with the Revershift, it is now possible to drive the Nexos Comfort entirely without using the clutch pedal.
Mid-mounted hitching options enable more operations to be combined in a single pass, such as for mechanical weed control in vineyards.
Mid-mounted implements
Another new feature is the option to use mid-mounted implements from row widths of 1.70 meters. This allows common attachments for mechanical weed control to be used under and between vines, together with rear-mounted mulchers or front-mounted implements if required – enabling several operations to be combined in one time-saving and fuel-efficient pass. In view of the declining availability of chemical pesticides, this equipment option is becoming increasingly attractive to conventional farms as well.
Whether using a single implement or several combined, the new automatic PTO reduces the number of actions required when lifting and lowering PTO-operated implements and reduces the operator’s workload.
