With the launch of the new ESPRO 1002 R, Kuhn renews its range of single-dose trailed seeders, intended for min-till seeding.  The range consists of four models and replaces the ESPRO 1000 R.

The ESPRO 3002 and 4002 rigid models have a working width of of 3.00 and 4.00 meters respectively and the two ESPRO 4002 R and 6002 R folding models work 4.00 and 6.00 meters wide.

With 2,500 litres for the 3.00 meter version and 3,500 litres for the 4.00 to 6.00 meter versions, the new ESPRO models have a large autonomy. They retain all the assets for which the range is well-known:

Versatile and universal

With the combination of six independent working sections, these seed drills enable optimal performance whether on ploughed or min-tilled land.

Low power requirement

The narrow press wheels, large in diameter (900 mm) and with an exclusive profile, are staggered in 2 rows spaced 200 mm apart. This configuration limits rolling resistance and prevents dirt and residue from building up at the front of the wheel assembly. An innovative concept to limit the power requirement and reduce fuel consumption.

Precision even at high speed

The Crossflex seeding bar is equipped with double large diameter discs, bevelled and offset by 41 mm. The seeding units are fitted on a bar with a cross-shaped profile and are securely held in place by polyurethane studs. This design enables great stability, ensuring a regular seeding depth even at high speed.

Simple and user-friendly

The ESPRO features simple and quick adjustments of the pressure and working depth of the working elements, automated management of headland turns without intervening on the tractor controls and intuitive flow control. All these are managed via an ISOBUS terminal. Hence, the ESPRO seed drill is designed for its ergonomics and comfort of use.

What’s new?

The ESPRO 1002 R seed drills have a new design and new features taking into account user experience and needs:

  • Lower overall machine weight reducing the need for pull power and therefore fuel consumption while at the same time offering greater manoeuvrability.

  • Easy access for filling the hopper via a secure mid-height side platform.

  • Half-opening mode allowing easy loading, bringing it as close as possible to the seed drill.

  • The development of “straight” working discs is adapted to min-till farming practices. They limit the area worked and keep soil moisture. The individual and independent fastening of each disc also ensures excellent ground following. These new discs complement the concave and notched discs already available.

  • Higher maximum ground pressure of 80 to 120 kg is an asset for farmers practicing min-till farming in dry and/or clayey conditions.
