Compact GX all-round wagon

Three years after introduction of the GX 440 and GX 520 universal transport wagons, Krone now launches the smaller version GX 360 PLUS. With a transport volume of up to 36 m3, this rounds off the lower end of the product range. It offers a solution for small to medium-sized enterprises.

Like its larger siblings, the GX 360 PLUS is also based on single-chassis concept and the pulled conveyor belt. A new feature here is the control of the hydraulic functions via preselection using KRONE PreSelect and subsequent operation via the tractor’s control units.

The weight-saving and stable base frame, in conjunction with the continuous high dropsides, ensures that this compactly constructed transport wagon has a payload with a loading volume of up to 36 m3. The conveyor belt, made of multi-layered fabric and connected to a transparent front wall, is pulled hydraulically towards the tailgate using two pull chains. The speed of the belt can be infinitely varied via the flow rate of the tractor. In doing so, the load is transported gently and without compression. The properties of the conveyor belt cushion the impact of the goods during loading. This prevents damage to transported goods which are particularly sensitive to pressure, such as root crops and vegetables. For transport of fine bulk goods such as grain, the side walls are sealed with rubber lips.

Optionally, the GX 360 PLUS can be equipped with two discharge rollers at the rear to deposit grass and maize silage as an even forage carpet. When not in use, the discharge rollers can easily be coupled to the tailgate and swivelled up or even completely dismounted. In addition, the wide-opening tailgate and the front wall which can be pulled forwards and backwards enabling quick and easy loading and unloading, such as pallets or straw bales. A loading area cover is also available on request.

Comfort and safety

A hydraulic articulated drawbar is fitted as standard, making it easier to attach and detach the wagon. It places more ballast on the tractor axle and, thanks to a high ground clearance of up to 70 cm, makes it easy to drive over silage heaps. In combination with the drawbar suspension, this ensures driving comfort in the field and on the road. As standard, the GX 360 PLUS is equipped with a tandem combined unit and a permissible axle load of 18 t. On request, the GX 360 PLUS can also be equipped with a hydraulic running gear and 20 t axle load, offering more driving comfort. The standard self-steering system prevents sward damage when cornering. Optionally, mechanical forced steering can be selected here.

As standard, the GX 360 PLUS stands on large 26.5″ wheels, either with rounded flanks or with maximum grip TRAC treads. It can be optionally equipped with 30.5″ tyres.

The hydraulically folding underride guard ensures safe manoeuvring and prevents deposits during unloading as well as debris on the road.

PLUS and PRO variants

With the launch of the GX 360 PLUS, KRONE is also introducing new variant designations. In the GX product family, the suffixes “PLUS” and “PRO” will differentiate between two different operating and control concepts in future. The GX 360 PLUS, GX 440 PLUS, GX 440 PRO and GX 520 PRO models are available. This means that even the KRONE GX 440 is now available in the PLUS version.

The PLUS variants feature simple electronics and hydraulics, as well as a rigid design. To control the wagon, the hydraulic functions are first preselected via KRONE PreSelect and then executed via the tractor’s control units.

The PRO variants fulfil transport requirements with maximum comfort. In addition to the standard ISOBUS direct operation, a wide range of equipment options are available to meet demanding requirements. An EBS braking system is also available, as well as a radio remote control for controlled unloading, hydraulically telescoping dropsides to reduce the drop height, a weighing device or electronic forced steering. In addition, all PRO models will be equipped with the “ExactUnload” function as standard which adjusts the unloading speed to the length of the silo and the driving speed of the tractor.

PreSelect operation

The GX PLUS models are operated via a function preselection system using KRONE PreSelect and executed via tractor control units. This makes it possible to use even tractors without ISOBUS for the GX. The preselect operation is available in two variants.

The PreSelect DS 50 electric preselect operation allows the hydraulic functions to be preselected and then executed using the tractor’s regulating valves. Here, the connection is made via a direct connection from the machine’s drawbar interface to the PreSelect DS 50. Power is supplied via the three-pin 12-volt plug.

The alternative for more comfort is the PreSelect Digital.  Here, the hydraulic functions are viewed and preselected via the ISOBUS terminal. It is also possible to carry out the preselection using a control lever with freely assignable ISOBUS keys. For this purpose, the drawbar interface is connected to the tractor’s ISOBUS socket via an ISOBUS cable.
