FieldNET enables growers to monitor, control and apply recommendations for irrigation programming remotely. FieldNET Advisor takes it a step further, utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) for advanced predictive analytics to make irrigation recommendations based on a number of factors, including weather, soil and crop data. “Crop growth, type, soil conditions, and weather forecasts for the next two weeks are constantly monitored. With all that real-time data collected, the software uses AI to make recommendations that the farmer can act upon”, says Gustavo Oberto, President of Global Irrigation at Lindsay. “It’s as easy as clicking a button on their smart phone to accept the recommendation and start the machine.”

The platform also gives growers insights they can use from one growing season to the next, having a deeper understanding of performance that can drive continuous improvement.

Oberto acknowledges that sophisticated solutions like those offered by FieldNET Advisor are part of a larger vision and solution to solving the expanding food crisis. “Technology is essential in today’s world, but ultimately it is the farmer who is at the helm. Lindsay provides farmers with tools to support the choices they make. By doing so, the company facilitates efficient use of water.”
